DriveSight does the same recording job, loop recording with crash detection that locks the clip, parking mode with motion detection and Google Drive backup, and then adds the part a windshield camera can't do: a live map of police sightings reported by other drivers, 336,000 speed, red-light and Flock plate-reader cameras called out by street name and distance, police aircraft overhead pulled from public flight data, and spoken severe weather warnings.
Recording and backup are free. The alert map is $6.99 a month or $29.99 a year.
